Bushbuck, Cape grysbok, common duiker and small grey mongoose are common, and rock dassies are particularly abundant. The birdlife is typical of coastal fynbos regions and includes Cape and red-necked francoilins, Cape bulbul, grassbird and southern tchagra. Location: Southern part of the province; south-east of Riversdale. Access: From Riversdale follow the N2 eastwards for 11 km and turn right onto the R323 to Stillbaai East. The reserve is on the coast, 5 km east of the town. Permits are required. Accommodation: None. Stillbaai has a hotel and a camping and caravan site. Other facilities: Walking trail, in December and January the Stillbaai Trust conducts guided tours. Open: Throughout the year. Opening time: Sunrise to sunset. |
