Web Home Page: The vegetation of this 165 ha reserve consists of coastal fynbos (heath), with a variety of plant species, and the best time to visit is October to March when the plants are in flower. Bushbuck, Cape grysbok, common duiker and small grey mongoose are common, and rock dassies are particularly abundant. The birdlife is typical of coastal fynbos regions and includes Cape and red-necked francoilins, Cape bulbul, grassbird and southern tchagra. Location: Southern part of the province; south-east of Riversdale. Access: From Riversdale follow the N2 eastwards for 11 km and turn right onto the R323 to Stillbaai East. The reserve is on the coast, 5 km east of the town. Permits are required. Accommodation: None. Stillbaai has a hotel and a camping and caravan site. Other facilities: Walking trail, in December and January the Stillbaai Trust conducts guided tours. Open: Throughout the year. Opening time: Sunrise to sunset.
